The room was great, with lovely views to the River Severn flowing nearby. The bed was comfortable and the heating very good (it was easy to adjust the temperature using the radiator valve), with quirky old-fashioned lighting that added further character to the room. I’ve only marked it from a 10 otherwise to an 8 because there was no option to stand to take a shower, which was a pain ahead of a busy day’s work. The shower was attached to the bath taps and had a long enough hose to reach a bracket if there had been one in the wall and the pressure was reasonable enough. Just adding a rail and shower curtain, together with a shower head bracket, would solve this issue. Instead, I had to kneel in the bath to take a shower before work. I can’t comment on the breakfast as I had to leave for work too early, but my evening meal of yummy nachos followed by an outstanding burger then a delicious sundae dessert was fab!

We had a large family room with a double and a single bed in the room and very spacious. The pub was once an 18th century malt house, so the room was a bit quirky and reflected the age of the property, but it was spacious, clean and comfortable, with a large en-suite and tea & coffee etc provided in the room. The rooms have their own entrance to the car park, so you can come and go outside of the pub opening times. Our room had a nice view of the river across the road, and the outside drinking area, but we didn't experience any noise from the pub at all. We would definitely stay here again.

The customer service was exceptional- the manager was really welcoming and friendly. We had booked a room with a double and 2 singles, but one of the singles hadn't been made up in error. He very kindly gave us an extra room for no extra charge and arranged secure space to store our bikes. The bar was also lovely with a great atmosphere, and the breakfast was delicious. The rooms were quiet, clean and comfortable. For a hotel right in the centre of town it was excellent value for money and the service was fantastic.

From Check in to Check out this property was amazing. The location, the welcome,. the homely environment, the comfortable room facilities and a nice desk to work from (I was on business)and the staff so welcoming and friendly and 'nothing was too much for them' attitude (can't remember their names!). The breakfast at the Malthouse - only a couple of minutes walk - was probably the best I have ever had - comfortable venue, great service, superb food w3ith great local provevance sourced food. Simply the best!

Arrived after long bike ride. Really friendly staff, easy check in. Room comfortable and clean with a bath that was appreciated after long ride. Looked out across road to river which was nice to watch walkers/ducks in the morning. Nice meal downstairs in the evening, good rack of ribs with delicious beans in spicey tomato sauce. Parking on site and able to lock my bike in little courtyard behind pub. Came and went through back of pub and nice breakfast served in sister pub, the Malthouse next door.
